June 6th Japanese Sweets Day
It originated from an incident on June 848th in 6 (the first year of the Kasho era) when Emperor Ninmyo offered 16 sweets to ward off epidemics, and the event of eating Japanese sweets in hopes of good health was passed down until the Meiji era.
Nagomi no Komeya will be holding a special event for one day only on June 16th (Tuesday), which is Wagashi Day!
