Information about YONEYA's Second Factory

An information center has been set up at the YONEYA Second Factory, where visitors can learn about yokan and Japanese sweets through videos and explanations. Souvenirs are also available.

    In the past, yokan was poured into a boat, left to sit overnight, then cut into pieces and individually wrapped in cellophane.
    In 26, we developed a method of directly filling paper boxes made of two layers of aluminum foil and paper in the shape of a bag with yokan.
    The following year, they completed the first machine in Japan that could pack yokan directly into paper boxes.
    This improved the shelf life of yokan, and now the method of directly filling the yokan is the mainstream way yokan is packaged.

    Development of "Canned Mizuyokan"

    In 37, after five years of research and development, YONEYA launched its biggest technological innovation to date: canned mizu yokan.
    After its release, in an effort to diversify the flavors, in addition to the candy-smooth mizu yokan, strawberry, melon and red bean paste-based mizu yokan were also released.

    In 41, we applied the technology we used to make canned mizu yokan and launched canned pudding.

    In 41, Kurimushi Yokan, which previously had a shelf life of just two days, began to be vacuum-packed, lengthening its shelf life.
    Until now, YONEYA's Kurimushi Yokan had only a short shelf life and was only available to customers living near or visiting Narita. However, it is now possible to deliver it to customers all over the country.

    "YONEYA Gift Set" includes an assortment of Mizuyokan and pudding

    In 45, we developed "Yonepack," which is said to be the origin of small-sized yokan.
    The company sold the products to young people, with the slogan "mini, maxi and pantaloons, anytime, anywhere," which were the fashions of the time. One in every 100 boxes was given a real four-leaf clover as a prize.
